About

I am Clare, a mum of three with a love of the great outdoors. I am passionate about children being outside and connecting with nature and adventure.

I have worked for many years in Early years education, in day care, as a Nanny, and working at Nursery Management level. I’m very passionate about positive childhood experiences and how these nurture learning and development. Currently working in further education, training early years apprentices.

A keen traveller, our travels before children were much more world wide and adventurous, zip lining in the Mexican jungle and walking on the ocean floor in Mauritius with only an old fashioned diving bell on to give you an idea of what I consider fun! 😉 actually the diving thing scared the crap out of me but you’ve got to try right?!

We’ve always camped and now we are a bit more middle aged we glamp (ish), so far only travelling within the Uk with the children – but what’s not to love about the wonderful country we live in?

I don’t really watch TV, I don’t care for celebrity. I do however love to read, addicted to my iPad and  love to listen to music – my tastes are eclectically crazy! I love festivals, so I’m not very good at roughing it but stick a cider in my hand and I can certainly get on with it. 😉

My big outdoor hobby is Geocaching, I find something strangely addictive about rummaging in bushes for Tupperware. A fan of more extreme caches I love the rush from finding a cache in an unusual or dangerous location.

Another strange past time I have is walking marathons. For fun. Just because. It gets me outdoors, exploring and means I can eat more chocolate. win!

Get out there, have fun!

  1. Wow! Sounds like we have a lot in common from spending lots of time outside with the family to being an early years educator – i’ve just completed my PGCE specialising in Early Years. I also read loads and I’m addicted to my IPad. Oh and we geocache for fun, when the mood takes us!

The beauty of the Internet and finding others who share your passions. 🙂
I seem to have taken the geocaching thing to obsessive levels at the moment. Hopefully I’ll be normal again soon! 😉
